Kristen's songwriting has taken top honors at MerleFest and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival songwriting competitions, and in 2020, she won the USA Songwriting Contest. She was named, alongside Dolly Parton and Brandi Carlile, one of the "Women Who Wrote Our 2020 Soundtrack" by The Bluegrass Situation.
