Eric Scott

Washington, DC soul/pop artist Eric Scott is one of the Mid-Atlantic region’s top go-to musicians for touring/recording artists and fans alike. A first-call bassist for live gigs and studio work, Eric has countless domestic and international studio and tour credits. In addition he has built a rare following as a songwriter and recording artist, headlining many of the area’s top festivals and concert venues, and sharing the stage with a diverse array of artists including James Brown, B.B. King, Mavis Staples, Aaron Neville, Booker T. Jones, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, and Jon Anderson of YES. Eric’s recent collaborations include working with Roger Waters, Tom Morello, Billy Corgan, Jake Clemons, and G.E. Smith as a vocalist for the Wounded Warriors MusiCorps Band.

Eric Scott is a 18-time Wammie winner (Washington Area Music Association), including the 2020 Wammie Award for ‘Best Pop Album’ for his 5th full-length release, The Charm City Sessions, co-produced with Scott Smith at The Wood and Stone Room - Baltimore. His music has been featured on ABC-TV, CBS-TV, Showtime, Cinemax, The WB, and several major motion pictures and indie films. His voice has been featured in international and regional ad campaigns for HGTV, NAT GEO, Ford, Chevy, Jeep, Chrysler, DC Lottery, and many more.

Currently, Eric is working to support his latest release, Peace Bomb, including the single, “Scene of the Crime” (video produced by Nashville-based Neighborhoods Apart Productions), a songwriting collaboration with DC area hit songrwriter Todd Wright. Calling his new music “Modern Throwback Soul,” Scott’s offerings are always evolving, yet maintain his signature funky, upbeat, soulful, and socially aware perspective. He is unafraid of a pop hook, and his gospel-soul drenched voice is the perfect vehicle to deliver rich emotion. About performing live, Eric says, “I want to get booty’s movin’...and get people thinking about the world we live in. We all need that connection, especially now. If I can help foster connection for people, then I’m a rich man."

About the new release, Peace Bomb

Eric Scott didn’t want to “re-create” the sound of '70s Soul, but has unapologetically applied a fresh coat of paint to it with his new, modern “Throwback Soul” album PEACE BOMB. Recorded with multi-platinum producer Jim Ebert, the album is packed with stellar talent, including three songs mixed by Jeff Juliano (Dan+Shay, Florida Georgia Line, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Shawn Mendes) percussion by Sue Hadjopoulos (Cyndi Lauper, Joe Jackson, Simple Minds), and Mastered by Dave Collins (Madonna, Sting, Metallica).

The record hits a funky and joyful stride immediately as horns, groovy guitars, sassy background vocals, and Scott’s signature, soul-drenched tenor propel 13 songs of love, self-empowerment, and peace. On the topical Motown influenced title track, Scott warns of “an epidemic gaining ground,” and for the need to “stop pointing fingers and spread more love around. The world needs help right now,” says Scott. “Sometimes art MUST imitate life.”
