Cathy Ponton King has been playing blues and her own original music for over three decades. She brings a great group of DC’s beloved musicians and Dietles’ favorites, Bob Berberich, Andy Rutherford, Tam Sullivan, and Sam Goodall to her show in May.
Cathy has four CDs of original blues and features great guests such as Ronnie Earl on guitar, Jimmy Thackery on guitar, and legendary jazz bassist Butch Warren who played with Thelonious Monk. Her vocals and Telecaster guitar carry the band with soul and love and heartfelt original songs, and Chicago blues, swing, sweet ballads and rock and roll.
She has opened for blues legends like Albert King, Willie Dixon, Memphis Slim, Earl King, Albert Collins, KoKo Taylor, Keb ‘Mo, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Stephen Stills, Paul Barrere, Sonny Landreth, Buddy Guy, Hubert Sumlin, Paul Butterfield, Tab Benoit, and many many more.
