Blue Spruce is a hard-driving traditional and original bluegrass band based in the Washington, DC area. The band features Ed Schaeffer on vocals and guitar, Barb Diederich on vocals and standup acoustic bass, Keith Arneson on banjo, and Will Sears on fiddle. We perform traditional bluegrass with a contemporary flair, blending exciting instrumental work with exquisite vocal harmonies. Our repertoire includes traditional bluegrass, golden-era country music, and original songs penned by Ed and Barb. The band is known for our solid technique, crowd-pleasing performances, and engaging showmanship which never comes at the expense of playing great bluegrass.
