The first Saturday of each month Big Howdy hosts a showcase featuring a special guest!
Special Guest: Cherry Blossom Special
Cherry Blossom Special is a progressive bluegrass band based in the Washington DC area. The band features Nick Cameron on mandolin and vocals, Justin Heath on guitar, Mari Carlson on Fiddle, Sophie Chang on cello, and Greg Mulley on bass. A truly unique ensemble, each musician draws on a distinct set of influences and together they create a one of a kind sound that bridges the gap between the traditional and the experimental.
Big Howdy is a DC-based progressive bluegrass band featuring the duet singing of Dede Wyland and Randy Barrett. The group offers a mix of original songs plus reinterpretations of classic country, bluegrass and roots material. Dede is a nationally recognized vocalist while Randy is a well-established singer songwriter and banjoist.
