Daryl is an internationally acclaimed recording artist, author, actor, and bandleader of The Daryl Davis Band. Born in Chicago and now based in Maryland, he blends deep blues and boogie-woogie roots with a powerful stage presence. A Howard University music graduate and former member of its renowned Jazz Vocal Ensemble, he has performed with legends including Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Platters, The Drifters, Bo Diddley, Percy Sledge, and Sam Moore.
Mentored by piano greats Pinetop Perkins and Johnnie Johnson, Daryl channels classic rock ’n’ roll and blues styles while making them his own. He has been featured on a Grammy-nominated Cephas & Wiggins album and released his own albums, including American Roots and Alternate Routes. Now, Daryl steps into the spotlight with his band for an electrifying night of authentic American roots music you won’t want to miss.
